West Ham want two striker signings as £90,000-a-week deal agreed – sources
West Ham are planning to bring two new strikers to the club before the end of the summer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The Irons struggled for goals in attack in the 2023-24 campaign and Julen Lopetegui is keen to rectify the situation as his new era gets underway at the London Stadium.
One top target for West Ham is Aston Villa 20-year-old Jhon Duran, with Football Insider revealing last week (26 July) that he has agreed to a £90,000-a-week deal at the club.
However, sources have told Football Insider (29 July) that the proposed move is currently “in limbo” as the two clubs are yet to agree a suitable fee for the Colombia international’s services.
Danny Ings and Michail Antonio are the only two senior strikers on the books at West Ham.
Both players have been linked with exits after entering the final year of their respective contracts but Lopetegui is currently set on keeping them – and that will only change if two new forwards arrive.
West Ham want Duran and another striker before deadline
Divin Mubama, 19, left West Ham at the end of his contract in June after making a smattering of first-team appearances last term.
Jarrod Bowen was the club’s top scorer in the 2023-24 campaign with 20 strikes but primarily plays on the right flank.

Mohammed Kudus chipped in with 14 strikes last season – his first at the London Stadium.
The Irons have signed more than 50 forwards on loan and permanent deals since 2010, with the striker area proving a problem position for the club.
