West Ham’s priority three signings revealed after ‘enormous’ offer – sources

West Ham will make transfer funds available to Julen Lopetegui if his appointment is confirmed, sources have told Football Insider.

The Irons confirmed the departure of David Moyes on Monday (6 May) and Football Insider revealed on Sunday (5 May) that Lopetegui has been offered an “enormous’ deal to make him the club’s best-paid manager ever.

It is believed the Spaniard has been given assurances about transfer funds after he left Wolves last summer (2023) following a big-money fire sale.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Lopetegui and technical director Tim Steidten will be working with a “huge” summer budget in a bid to kick-start the post-Moyes era.

Transfer chiefs are set to prioritise bringing a new centre-back, left-back and striker to the London Stadium in the summer window.

Lopetegui to get ‘huge’ West Ham war chest as three priorities identified

Football Insider revealed last week (29 April) that West Ham are plotting four to six new signings in total with several current first-teamers set to depart.

Michail Antonio, Aaron Cresswell and Danny Ings are among those on the chopping block as the summer window approaches.

Lopetegui, who has previously managed Sevilla and Real Madrid, finished 13th with Wolves in the 2022-23 campaign.

He primarily used 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 formations during his time at Molineux.
