Jude Bellingham could be facing extreme disappointment next summer after a clash with England head coach Thomas Tuchel.
Despite England’s 2-0 win over Albania to complete a perfect World Cup qualification campaign, the performance was far from exciting, and it possibly created more questions than answers.
Bellingham was fuming with Tuchel after the decision to replace him with Morgan Rogers after 84 minutes, having also left him out of the squad during the September international window.
If Tuchel wants to live up to expectations at the 2026 World Cup, with silverware on his mind, he might have to make a similar squad decision before the plane jets out to America, Mexico, and Canada.
Jude Bellingham is causing more issues than he solves
Bellingham was England’s brightest player against Albania, but after being substituted, the Real Madrid man’s true colours were highlighted yet again, throwing a tantrum on the sidelines.
Tuchel has addressed the situation regarding the midfielder’s attitude several times, with the topic often taking control of press conferences and taking the spotlight off other important questions.
In a recent interview, Steven Gerrard made a point of the old England squad being full of “egotistical losers”, and Tuchel must avoid any cases of players believing their more important than the squad.
There is certainly a fear that taking Bellingham to the World Cup could do more damage than good, despite his abilities in front of goal and potential to make something magical happen.

As well as Rogers, the England boss has the likes of Phil Foden, Eberechi Eze, and even Cole Palmer once he returns from injury, at his disposal. There is no lack of creativity available.
Of course, a huge number of fans would be shocked if Tuchel actually decided to exclude Bellingham from the World Cup squad, but some would certainly understand the call.
Since the player’s father’s outburst at the head coach, far too much of the spotlight has been on their situation and why he was wrong to comment.
That highlights the exact negative impact that Bellingham can have, and his tantrum at being substituted earlier is just the latest incident involving the Real Madrid star.
