‘Will always be my home’ – Joelinton sends message to Newcastle fans after development
Newcastle midfielder Joelinton has become a fan favourite since arriving on Tyneside, and the Brazilian shared an emotional message with supporters after a memorable day.
Joelinton joined the club in 2019 and, while he initially struggled to impress as a central striker, his transformation into a dynamic midfielder has been key to his revival at St James’ Park.
Last season, he formed a vital midfield trio alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali, playing a major role in Newcastle’s successful campaign which saw them finish fifth and lift the Carabao Cup.
However, injuries disrupted his momentum, and Joelinton missed the end of the season with a knee problem.
His absence forced Eddie Howe into a tactical reshuffle, as Joe Willock unimpressed in his displays and was unable to replicate Joelinton’s impact in midfield. With performances suffering, Howe was ultimately prompted to switch formation.
Now, the Brazilian has taken the opportunity to send a heartfelt message to fans, following a day to remember for the midfielder.

Newcastle push ahead with Yoane Wissa transfer

With pre-season preparations underway and Joelinton back in contention, Newcastle are now focused on securing a new striker.
Reports suggest that Newcastle remain confident in their pursuit of Brentford forward Yoane Wissa, despite seeing an initial bid rejected.
Wissa has now left Brentford’s training camp amid growing speculation and has reportedly turned down any offer to enter new contract talks with the Bees.
After missing out on previous striker targets, including Joao Pedro and Hugo Ekitike, who both opted for other moves, the club will be determined to get this deal over the line and avoid further setbacks in the transfer market.
