‘Wrexham to seal Patrick Bamford signing after bombshell Leeds United exit news’

Wrexham have been given the green light to seal Patrick Bamford’s signature following the latest news coming out of Leeds United.

Daniel Farke’s side played out a goalless draw against direct rivals Man United on Saturday, 19 July, and despite the striker working hard to return from injury, he was absolutely nowhere to be seen.

The 31-year-old made zero starts in the Championship last season, appearing seven times since New Year’s Day, accumulating 112 minutes of first-team football during that time.

While there is no doubt over his legendary status at Elland Road, having helped deliver Premier League promotion in 2019/20 after 18 years away from the division, time is ticking away on his future.

He has been heavily linked with exits over the previous two transfer windows, but with the Whites attempting to win the Championship title, the decision was clearly made to keep his experience in the dressing room.

The average age of Farke’s squad continues to get younger and younger; therefore, it makes sense to keep the veteran centre-forward around last season, but his injury issues are becoming too much at Elland Road.

Due to his status, Bamford is one of the highest-paid members of the group and his contract has been an issue for moves before [MOT Leeds News], but with just 15 league starts across the last two campaigns, the fire at the end of his torch is rapidly dying out.

Despite his injury worries, the 31-year-old has long been linked with a move to Wrexham‘s SToK Cae Ras [Mirror], and Farke’s latest admission may have just handed the striker to the club on a silver platter.

Daniel Farke decides on striker’s future at Elland Road

Speaking to the press after the 0-0 draw at the Strawberry Stadium [Yorkshire Evening Post], Farke admitted that Bamford is no longer in the manager’s plans for the Premier League next season.

The striker did not travel to Sweden after private talks with the former Norwich City figure, with the likes of Harry Gray, Sam Chambers, Rhys Chadwick, and newly signed Lukas Nmecha given chances instead.

It will not have been a very simple decision for the Whites, but Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s side should be jumping to sign a player of Bamford’s knowledge, experience, and even talent when fit.

The Welsh side have already landed huge deals for Liberato Cacace and Ryan Hardie after back-to-back-to-back promotions from the National League, and they could be one signing away from breaking yet another record.
