Revealed: West Ham have agreed near-£2m fee for Arthur Masuaku

West Ham are set to recieve a fee of around £1.75million as Arthur Masuaku completes a permanent move to Turkish giants Besiktas, sources have told Football Insider.

The Irons confirmed the 29-year-old’s exit on Monday (17 April) after the obligation-to-buy clause in his loan agreement was triggered.

His temporary move to Besiktas has become permanent after the DR Congo international started in the 0-0 draw against Trabzonspor on Sunday (16 April).

Masuaku has turned out 27 times across all competitions in Turkey this term, notching two goals and four assists.

The left-back’s West Ham contract was set to expire in June 2024.

He had made 128 appearances for the Irons across all competitions since joining the club in August 2016, registering two goals and 10 assists.

Masuaku was never firmly first choice at the London Stadium and made 24 appearances in the 2021-22 campaign – most of which came as a substitute.

He cost the Irons a reported £6million fee when he joined from Olympiakos almost seven years ago, and earns a wage of £40,000-a-week (as per FBRef).

West Ham moved to refresh their left-back ranks in last summer’s window (2022), signing Italy international Emerson from Chelsea for a reported £13million.

The future of long-serving full-back Aaron Cresswell is also under threat as his contract enters its final months – although the Irons have the option to extend his stay.
