Sources: Man United and Tottenham make moves to sign Marc Guehi

Man United and Tottenham have registered their interest in Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi, sources have told Football Insider.

The battle for the 23-year-old is hotting up with both clubs looking to add centre-back options to their squad this January.

Crystal Palace value Guehi at £60million but Man United are willing to offer £45million this winter.

United and Spurs have both been in contact with the Eagles to show they are keen on the England international, who made the £20million move from Chelsea in the summer of 2021.

Guehi has emerged as one of the Premier League’s best young centre-backs and has become a mainstay at Selhurst Park making 98 appearances in all competitions since his arrival.

He has broken into Gareth Southgate’s England squad, starting seven of his nine outings for the Three Lions.

Guehi’s contract at Palace is set to expire in the summer of 2026, but his quality has put him on the radar of top Premier League clubs.

Man United have are thin of centre-back options amid injuries to Jonny Evans and Lisandro Martinez while Raphael Varane has scarcely played this season, raking up just 340 league minutes.

Elsewhere, Tottenham suffered a huge blow through the long-term injury of summer signing Micky van de Ven while Eric Dier’s performances have been highly criticised.

Palace could have a new manager soon as Football Insider revealed (7 December) that Roy Hodgson may face an exit from the south London club within weeks.

Football Insider also revealed (8 December) that the Eagles are plotting a move for underpressure Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper if their veteran manager departs.

Man United are next in action on Saturday (9 December) to face Bournemouth while Tottenham, following their 2-1 loss to West Ham, take on Newcastle United the following afternoon,
