It is believed that recruitment chiefs and manager Mauricio Pochettino are continuing to monitor Ferguson’s situation as Chelsea’s striker shortage continues to give club chiefs a headache.
The Republic of Ireland international has hit six goals in 24 appearances across all competitions this term – but has started in just over half of those games.
He has already scored 12 Premier League goals in 38 games in the top flight.
Ferguson has recently penned a fresh contract at Brighton, with his new agreement set to run until June 2029.
