Anthony Elanga: Newcastle open talks over multiple deals

Newcastle United have added Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga to their right-winger shortlist as they continue to pursue a new forward signing, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Magpies “admire” Elanga and are in discussions over multiple deals.

Eddie Howe has made signing a wide forward a priority this summer, and the club see the 22-year-old as a potential option to fill that gap.

The former Man United winger impressed last season by scoring five goals and providing nine assists in 39 games.

Newcastle have also considered West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, but that deal is difficult to complete due to the money involved.

Football Insider previously revealed that the Irons value the England international upwards of £100million, and have no plans to sell him this summer.

Even though Elanga is someone the north east giants admire, the club also have other targets to consider.

Football Insider revealed that the club have spoken with Chelsea over a possible deal for Noni Madueke.

Newcastle’s first choice had been former Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, but he chose a move to Bayern Munich instead.
