Aston Villa could land ‘£10m’ for Davis as January offers flood in – ex-teammate

Alan Hutton has claimed Keinan Davis could be worth £10million to Aston Villa should he succeed out on loan.

The former Villa defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 23-year-old needs a run of games to prove his ability and potentially over double in value.

As revealed by Football Insider last week (24th December), six Championship clubs have enquired about taking Davis on loan in January.

A recruitment source told Football Insider Villa will listen to temporary or permanent offers for a player valued between £2-4million.

However, Hutton suggested Davis’ value could skyrocket with a successful loan spell.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I think it’s a low price. That comes off the back of that he has had his injury problems.

“He has not been able to play in the team for a sustained amount of time. I think that’s where it comes from.

“For Villa, I think if they can get him out to a club that suits him on loan for the rest of that season, wait and see what happens in the summer, then his value could probably increase.

“He’s got everything. His ability is there for all to see. It’s solely about staying fit. Teams aren’t going to spend £10million on a player they can only have for five games a season.

“It’s about him going out there, proving himself and taking it from there.”

Aston Villa

Davis has struggled for game time this season, with just one Premier League appearance under his belt.

He has played 86 times for Villa to date since breaking through the youth ranks.

In other news, Watford have made an approach to sign a senior Aston Villa star.
