Aston Villa could sign Gomez on one condition after source update – pundit
Joe Gomez will have to tell Liverpool he wants to leave to force through a move to Aston Villa this month.
That is the view of former Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 24-year-old’s future at Anfield.
This site revealed on Monday that Villa were making one final attempt to sign Gomez after registering their interest earlier in the window.

However, a Reds source told Football Insider (25 January) that Jurgen Klopp has decided to reject offers for him this month.
Gomez has fallen down the pecking order on Merseyside this season, following the return to form of Joel Matip and signing of Ibrahima Konate.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest, Robinson said: “The only way Gomez is getting out of Liverpool is if he forces a move.
“He would need to tell Klopp that he wants to go.
“Klopp isn’t going to let him go midway through a season after the problems they had last year at centre-half. No chance. It really cost them last season.

“Gomez is not a player who Klopp will happily allow to leave. It would have to be a player-driven move. There is no way I can see the club wanting to sell him.
“It looks like Nat Phillips will be leaving as well and if they both left, Liverpool will have to go into the market to get another one.”
