Attacker: I hope Rangers can help me play alongside this Real Madrid ace
By Danny Wright
Alfredo Morelos believes that a move to Rangers could help him play alongside Real Madrid ace James Rodriguez in the Colombia national team.
The HJK attacker has been pictured in Scotland ahead of an expected move to Ibrox after the Express reported that he was on his way to Edinburgh for a medical with the Light Blues.
It is understood that Morelos will cost Rangers £1million and will sign a three-year deal with the club.
He now thinks that a move to the Glasgow giants could see his international career with Colombia blossom.
“I hope to do a good job at Rangers and get a place in the national team one day,” said Morelos, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
“I hope to play with Falcao and James Rodriguez and the other important Colombian players.
“Falcao is an amazing footballer and he showed that at Monaco and the national team.
“He’s been playing for Colombia for a long time and he is a humble person.
“I am young, I want to keep progressing, keep scoring goals and hopefully play with him the national team one day.”
Morelos has been plying his trade in the Finnish top tier with HJK Helsinki in the last couple of seasons.
He has been in hot form for the Finnish giants this term, scoring a stunning 12 goals in 12 league games as the league season there takes place over the summer months.
The former Independiente Medellin striker has never earned a senior international cap with Colombia, but also has a great goal scoring record with the Under-20s side.
Morelos has scored seven times in six appearances for the youth team, meaning that he is definitely on the radar of his nation’s international set-up.
