‘Chelsea to sign Gyokeres or Isak’ – Fans react to Cole Palmer announcement

Chelsea fans are certain the club must sign a new striker in place of Nicolas Jackson after a stat emerged around the form of Cole Palmer.

The attacker has emerged as one of the best players in the Premier League since moving to Stamford Bridge from Man City, with many tipping him to go to the very top of the game.

Palmer was a driving force as Enzo Maresca’s side threatened to challenge for the Premier League title earlier in the campaign.

That pursuit of top spot has tailed off in recent weeks, although a new stat suggests that is not because of the form of the England international, prompting Chelsea fans to demand their club take action.

Chelsea fans want new striker as Palmer creativity not exploited

According to a new update from Opta, in the two months since 4 December, Palmer has created more chances than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues.

In total, the 22-year-old has created 32 opportunities for his Chelsea teammates in that period, although not a single one of them has been converted into a goal by his fellow attackers.

That mans Palmer has not registered an assist in that time, which has undoubtedly proved costly in the way Maresca’s side have dropped off in that title race.

Taking to X to react to that statistic, many of the club’s fans bemoaned the finishing struggles of other attackers such as Jackson and Noni Madueke.

Other Chelsea fans demanded the signing of more efficient strikers in front of goal, with Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak of Newcastle named as potential targets.
