‘Eddie Howe left thread-bare by Newcastle’ after player confession – fans fume
Newcastle United fans have blasted the club’s ownership for leaving Eddie Howe “thread-bare” for the remainder of the season.
The Magpies sold Lloyd Kelly for £20million, raising the total to almost £100million in sales across the entire season.
However, that has impacted the squad depth available to Howe and is something he addressed during his latest press conference.
He said, “It wasn’t necessarily my decision to let him leave, it was very reluctant from our side. Lloyd is a player who had just recently signed, we believed in him and his qualities.
“It’s slightly frustrating for him he hadn’t played more, but that was in part due to the other players around him.
“We’ve been aware in this window of managing PSR and making decisions which benefit us in the long term and this is one of those.”
Newcastle fans are concerned about the squad
Fans believe the squad is “thread-bare” at this stage, while others believe Howe is nothing more than a “coach” rather than being in charge of all aspects of the team.
