Everton told to sign Marcus Thuram in January after source’s Newcastle reveal – pundit
Everton should enter the race to sign Marcus Thuram this January.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Toffees’ need for a new attacker.
On 22 November, sources told Football Insider that Newcastle United are willing to pay £10million to sign Borussia Monchengladbach star Thuram in January.

Thuram, 25, is free to talk to clubs outside Germany from January and could sign a pre-contract with an English club ahead of joining on a free.
The France international is part of the squad for this month’s World Cup after netting 13 goals in 17 appearances for the Bundesliga side this season.
With Everton’s strikers struggling in the first half of the season, McManus claims Thuram could be the answer to the club’s prayers.
“They are in desperate need of a striker, it has to be the priority in January,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“There just aren’t goals in that team. I just saw the other day that they have scored 11 goals this season, that’s the same as Nottingham Forest and we know how they have struggled.
“Calvert-Lewin has been injured, I get that. But even when he has played he hasn’t looked like scoring. Maupay has done nothing since he got there.
“They need someone who is going to come in and score 10 goals in the second half of the season.

“Everyone is talking about Thuram, could he be the one?
“I would certainly try if I was Everton because they are in real danger of going down if they don’t find a goalscorer.”
In other news, Kieran Maguire has claimed that an Everton deal is close as investors visit Bramley-Moore and “it’s real progress”.
