Expert reveals Ben White and Gabriel roles for Arsenal v Newcastle after speaking to club source
Arsenal defender Ben White and Gabriel have travelled to Newcastle ahead of tonight’s Premier League clash.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
White and Gabriel, both 24, have missed Arsenal’s recent games with the club currently going through a defensive injury crisis.
The Gunners travel to Newcastle on Monday (16 May) looking to regain fourth position after Tottenham beat Burnley 1-0 on Sunday (15 May).
After speaking to someone with contacts at Arsenal, Wenham is expecting Arsenal to be boosted by the returning duo against Newcastle.
“I spoke to a friend of mine last night, he is someone who has connections at Arsenal,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He says Ben White and Gabriel have travelled up to Newcastle and they are expecting White and maybe even Gabriel to start tonight.
“Obviously that is a boost for Arsenal. We know about the defensive issues the club has at the moment, especially after the North London derby.
“The defence is a bit all over the place thanks to some suspensions as well, not least because of Rob Holding’s red against Tottenham last week.
“So it looks like Arsenal will be boosted by these players in what is a massive game.”
The Gunners welcome Everton to The Emirates on the final day of the season (22 May).
The club have confirmed a place in the Europa League after a strong league season without European football.
