Expert shares ‘big’ verdict on Dan James signing for Tottenham after source’s update
Tottenham will not sign Leeds United winger Dan James this summer.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On Tuesday (23 August), this site revealed that Antonio Conte’s side have registered their interest in signing James from Leeds.

The Yorkshire club want to keep hold of James, who currently has four years remaining on his contract at Elland Road.
James was in the starting lineup as Leeds lost 1-0 to Brighton on Saturday (27 August).
Wenham insists Tottenham will not be signing the Welshman due to complications over squad registration.
“I’m sorry, no chance, big waste of time,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“We have spent years battling homegrown rules because of Ben Davies. We like Ben Davies so we accommodate it.
“He’s Welsh so he counts in the Premier League but doesn’t count in Europe. We aren’t going to make that worse.
“You don’t have to be Einstein to work that one out. I also don’t rate James either, he has been underwhelming wherever he has been.
“If you want to sign a pace merchant and use those kinds of tactics, Lucas is better than him. Not for me, this move.”

James has scored four goals in 39 total appearances since joining Leeds United in the summer of 2021.
He failed to make an impact at former club Manchester United.
In other news, according to sources, Sergio Reguilon has agreed to join Atletico Madrid after Tottenham green light.
