Expert suggests ‘huge’ Tottenham deal close after source’s Harry Kane reveal
Noel Whelan has claimed Harry Kane is “happier than ever” at Tottenham under serial-winning boss Antonio Conte.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed Spurs getting the former Chelsea boss, 53, to commit to a new deal would be a “big sign” of their trophy-winning ambition.
Football Insider revealed on Sunday (16 October) that Conte’s future will play a big role in Kane committing to a new Tottenham contract.

The Italian is out of contract at the end of the season, but this site has revealed that Tottenham are in talks over an extension that would be worth in excess of £20million – equivalent to around £400,000-a-week.
Meanwhile, Spurs’ top scorer Kane is out of contract in June 2024 – amid interest from German giants Bayern Munich.
Conte’s side sit third in the table after losing against Man United on Wednesday (19 October), with the Italian pleading for “time” in order to become title contenders post-match.
But Whelan suggested Tottenham are now in a position to “challenge” in the Premier League – a big step up from the tenures of Jose Mourinho and Nuno Espirito Santo.
He told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “Harry Kane is probably happier than he’s ever been at Tottenham.
“He knows he has a manager who can make a difference. He’s put them in a challenging position, and Conte is trying to change the mindset at the club.
“They’ve always been that nearly team.
“But Conte is asking more from players. He is demanding that they become a team that can win trophies.

“I think Kane can see the difference from Nuno and Jose Mourinho. He needed to see a sign that Tottenham were going to challenge.
“I think if Conte signs a new deal, then that would definitely be a huge sign.”
