Henderson handed ‘kick in the head’ after Man United source’s update today – pundit
Dean Henderson could be “chatting away with his agent” regarding a potential permanent exit from Man United, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 24-year-old must move on in order to force his way into the England side.
Football Insider first revealed in March that Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has been targeted as a potential replacement for David De Gea and the latest from a United source today is they are closely monitoring his situation going into 2022.

De Gea’s contract expires at the end of next season and his long-term future at Old Trafford is up in the air.
Whelan suggested the interest in Martinez could be the catalyst for the one-time England international finding a move elsewhere.
“If I was Henderson, that’d be a massive kick in the head,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“He’s had a little bit of game time, but everyone felt that he was that natural successor to David de Gea.
“I don’t think he’s done that much wrong when he’s come in. If I were him, I’d be looking at my situation. Is he going to become the number one over Martinez? No. If they get Martinez, that is the De Gea replacement.
“In terms of how he must feel, I’m sure he’s chatting away with his agent and trying to find a permanent move away after hearing that news.
“He needs to move on if he’s going to get into that England team.”

Henderson has played just 158 minutes of football for Man United this term.
A Red Devils source told Football Insider last month (16 November) that the club will listen to loan offers for the shot-stopper, who is free to line up a January move.
In other news, a pundit has predicted Rangnick to make a ‘big statement’ with Man United player after Sky update.
