Keith Wyness shares ‘big’ 115 charges update – ‘It won’t be good for Man City’
Manchester City face a variety of different consequences if they have breached financial rules amid the ongoing wait for their 115 charges verdict.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who thinks any verdict will give Man City and the Premier League “a big black eye.”
It has been over three years since Man City were dealt the charges, but there is no timescale over when a verdict will be announced.
Amid rising legal costs for Man City and Premier League clubs, the case being dragged on is having a financial impact even before a verdict is reached.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – outlines the punishments Man City could face if found guilty of the charges.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness believes the verdict is being “delayed for a reason.”
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think we’re all talking hypothetical and the trouble is the vacuum is there in terms of information.
“So people are filling it with supposition and wild guesses. And I don’t really think there’s much point until we actually hear something official now, because we’ve heard of expulsion, we’ve heard of taking away titles, we’ve heard of 60 points, 40 points.
“So many different variations right now. Common sense tells us it’s delayed for a reason. I mean, we are just going to have to sit here and wait for the facts to come out.
“But whatever happens is either going to be a big black eye for the Premier League or a big black eye for City. So it won’t be good for football overall.”
Man City to tie down Phil Foden to new deal
Sources have told Football Insider that Man City want to open contract talks with Phil Foden to keep him at the Etihad.
Foden’s contract is set to expire in 2027, with confidence around the club that the 25-year-old will want to remain in Manchester.
Man City have no plans to entertain any offers for Foden in the summer, with the midfielder having contributed seven goals and three assists in the Premier League this season.
