‘Brilliant’, ‘Get him in the first team’ – Leeds fans in meltdown over U23 star after display v Ipswich
Leeds fans saw plenty they liked in the Under-23s victory over Ipswich on Monday night.
Two goals from striker Sam Dalby were the headlines from the 3-2 win, but the all-round performance was solid and impressive – something we haven’t been able to say about the first team for a long time.
The 18-year-old striker joined on a free transfer in January from League Two side Leyton Orient, where he scored one goal and added three assists in 16 league outings.
And Leeds fans have been impressed with what he’s been doing in the Under-23s, including the brace tonight.
One fan said that he would have had a hat-trick on Saturday against Sheffield Wednesday with all the chances that Caleb Ekuban missed.
Another compared him to £15million man Chris Wood, who left to join Burnley over the summer.
That’s high praise indeed and lots of Leeds supporters said that he should be given a chance in the first-team before the end of the season.
