'Would love him' – Leeds fans react after being installed in running to re-sign PL attacker
Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to urge manager Thomas Christiansen to re-sign Aaron Lennon from Everton after the were installed in the running to sign him, according the bookmakers’ odds.
SkyBet have installed the Whites as 20/1 third-favourites to complete a swoop for Lennon, 30, during the January transfer window – and that has got the Elland Road faithful talking on social media.
Lennon left Leeds to sign for Tottenham in 2005 in the wake of serious financial difficulties at the Yorkshire club.
Although he was highly-rated by the fans, he went for just £1million and become a true star of the Spurs team.
After a successful loan spell, he signed for Everton in 2015 after a decade in North London.
The 12-times England international is still a regular feature in the Toffees’ matchday squad in the Premier League, but he is beginning to drift further away from holding a key role at Goodison Park.
The Sun has reported that Premier League high-flyers Burnley are ready to table a bid worth £1.5million for the former Leeds attacker during the current transfer window after originally missing out on him in the summer.
Now, Leeds fans believe that they have a chance to try and sign up the Everton ace this month after emerging in the running to seal his signature.
