26-year-old has played last game – Three things we learned about Leeds from 1-1 v Sunderland
3. Lasogga must have played his last game for the club
Leeds fans wanted Pierre-Michel Lasogga back in the side after Caleb Ekuban failed to win them over with just one goal in 15 Championship games. Well, they got their wish and got… another blank from their striker. And this time it was Lasogga who got the brunt of criticism from Leeds fans after appearing about as mobile as a tank. He might be a better finisher than Ekuban, but he doesn’t have the mobility or the pace. What Leeds need are the best bits from their two strikers combined into one. But after today it’s obvious that Lasogga isn’t the man who is going to fire Leeds back into the Premier League next season. Given that, and the fact that his wages are huge, Heckingbottom needs to bin him off in the summer. And if he’s going to do that, there’s not much point playing him again this season.
