Agbonlahor: Galan could be a Premier League sensation at Leeds next season

Gabby Agbonlahor has backed Leeds United in their pursuit of Huesca defender Javi Galan.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward insisted it is important the Whites add to their squad to compete in their second season back in the Premier League.

Football Insider revealed on June 2 Leeds had approached Galan’s representatives to discuss his situation this summer.

The left-back, who can also operate in midfield, is also attracting the interest of Sevilla after his release clause dropped to £3.5million from £7million.

It comes after Galan enjoyed a fine personal season despite Huesa suffering relegation from La Liga.

Only Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi completed more successful dribbles (159) than the Spaniard (121), according to WhoScored.

“It’s definitely important to get those types of players in,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“You just need to add quality. Every team will want to improve on this season. The Premier League gets tougher every season.

“I’m sure it would be a good player to bring in and with stats like that I’m sure he’ll have a good success rate with his dribbles in the Premier League.”

Leeds are still attempting to tie Ezgjan Alioski to a new contract with his current deal set to expire this summer.

This site revealed on Friday (June 4) that the Whites have presented him with a new and improved contract offer.

Galan has 53 La Liga games under his belt after spending the past two seasons in the Spanish top-flight with Huesca.
