Liam Rosenior to take FA Cup risk in five changes – Chelsea predicted XI vs Wrexham

Chelsea are set to travel to Wrexham AFC for the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday, with Liam Rosenior expected to make wholesale changes.

The Blues returned to winning ways on Wednesday, and go into the weekend full of confidence after demolishing Aston Villa 4-1 at Villa Park.

With a place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup up for grabs, Chelsea are expected to progress against Wrexham, who currently reside in the Championship.

However, the Welsh side will still be a stern test, having previously knocked out Nottingham Forest and Ipswich Town to reach this stage, while also sitting inside the playoffs.

Nevertheless, Chelsea’s latest training ground preparations will likely see multiple changes to the starting XI, with Rosenior having one eye on the Champions League next week.

Liam Rosenior to take risk with five Chelsea changes expected vs Wrexham

While five changes will be a massive risk for Chelsea against a good Wrexham side, many of these players proved they are capable of beating Championship opposition when they beat Hull City 4-0 in the previous round.

In goal, Filip Jorgensen keeps his place after coming into the side for Robert Sanchez on Wednesday.

Jorrel Hato remains the left-back, while Reece James is moved to right-back to ensure experience remains in the side, with Malo Gusto losing out.

At centre-back, Tosin Adarabioyo comes in for Wesley Fofana, and he will partner Trevoh Chalobah.

Into midfield, and Andrey Santos and Romeo Lavia both come into the starting XI to partner each other in the centre of the pitch, with Moises Caicedo falling out of the starting XI.

Enzo Fernandez will remain as the attacking midfielder, with Alejandro Garnacho on his left wing and Pedro Neto coming in after serving his suspension to occupy the right wing, with Cole Palmer falling out of the lineup.

Up front, Joao Pedro is rewarded with a rest after his mid-week hat-trick, with Liam Delap returning to the starting XI.
