Chelsea’s 2026 summer plans are in a state of flux as it remains unclear whether or not the West London club will feature in the 2026-27 Champions League. A bruising 3-0 defeat at Everton last time out in the Premier League, which was preceded by being dumped out of this season’s Champions League by PSG, means that Liam Rosenior’s side are struggling to gain ground at the top end of the Premier League table, the 7-0 hammering of Port Vale in the FA Cup keeping their trophy hopes alive at least.

Summer incomings are going to depend on several factors: whether Chelsea qualify for the Champions League, their PSR position and any outgoings. One thing the Blues do have in their favour is that they have a lot of surplus players, which could allow them to break the bank on elite targets like Morgan Rogers. Aston Villa want over £100million for Rogers, but Football Insider understands that Chelsea are unlikely to be deterred in their pursuit of the ex-Manchester City forward.

Chelsea ponder Robin Roefs deal as Enzo Fernandez could be sold

Chelsea’s goalkeeper situation has been unclear for some time, with Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen potentially finding themselves on the chopping board this summer. The possibility of that duo being sold would be exacerbated if the Blues find a new goalkeeper. Football Insider understands that Chelsea are considering a £60million move for Sunderland ace Robin Roefs, though there could be competition from both Liverpool and Manchester City. Enzo Fernandez‘s Chelsea future is also unclear with Real Madrid interested. The Argentina ace, Chelsea’s vice-captain, was suspended internally for two matches after speaking openly about the possibility of joining Los Blancos. Could it be that Chelsea now look to sanction a big-money exit?
