Man City could be deducted ’60 points’ for breaching 115 charges – Keith Wyness
Manchester City could be deducted up to 60 points if they are found guilty of breaking financial fair play rules.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, as a verdict is still yet to be reached on Man City’s 115 charges case.
Man City were first dealt the charges in 2023 for allegedly breaching financial rules between 2009 and 2018.
As they wait for the final verdict to be announced, Man City are facing huge legal costs, with the Premier League also under pressure from clubs amid rising legal fees.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – said a 60 point deduction would “make sense” after finance expert Kieran Maguire told The Overlap that Man City could be deducted between 40 and 60 points.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness though states we are all still in the dark over what penalty Man City could receive.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “We’re all just guessing at this moment.
“There’s no doubt about it. Look, it is the sort of penalty I would think if they were found guilty. I think 60 points would make sense.
“And I think it could be something that City could accept if they were found guilty. But of course there’ll be an appeal anyway. So if it was 60 points, that’ll probably be reduced as well.”

Expert reveals Man City could face removal from Premier League
Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Man City could face expulsion from the Premier League if they are found guilty of all 115 charges.
Pep Guardiola’s side are currently second in the Premier League table, and are looking to win the trophy for the ninth time.
There have been suggestions that Guardiola could step down as manager if Man City are found guilty of breaking financial rules and face heavy punishment.
