Man City news: Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal ‘could be a done deal’ after £42m update- pundit
Noel Whelan has claimed Gabriel Jesus joining Arsenal from Manchester City “could be a done deal” after a bid was reportedly tabled.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 25-year-old could be one of at least two new strikers through the door at the Emirates Stadium.
As reported by Goal Brazil (11 May), Arsenal have tabled a 42.4million (€50million) bid for Jesus, although City are demanding £50.9million (€60million).

As revealed by Football Insider in March, the Gunners are looking for a powerful centre-forward under the age of 25.
They have also set their sights on Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is keen to join from Everton.
Whelan suggested Arsenal could bring two strikers in and that Jesus would be a statement of intent.
Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I think a deal is going to be done. £42million is not a bad offer from Arsenal. That’s really showing their intent.
“They need to get two strikers, if not three. Two for sure.
“He definitely fits the bill of how Arteta wants to play. His work rate is phenomenal, he’s proven that he can score goals when he’s inside the 18-yard box.
“I think he will complement the way they play. I think that deal could be a done deal, along with maybe Calvert-Lewin as well from Everton.”
Jesus’s contract at Manchester City expires next summer.

Arsenal are at risk of losing both Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette on free transfers at the end of the season.
The duo are Arteta’s sole senior centre-forward options after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was sold in January.
