Source’s ‘crucial’ Firpo update makes ‘world of difference’ to Leeds – Mills
Junior Firpo’s potential return against Tottenham will make the “world of difference” to Leeds United, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England defender insisted Firpo will bring much-needed balance to the Leeds XI.
A Leeds source told Football Insider yesterday (November 17) the left-back has been given the all-clear to return for Sunday’s game against Tottenham.
Firpo has not featured for Marcelo Bielsa’s side since picking up a thigh injury during one of the infamous murderball training sessions.
Midfielder Stuart Dallas and centre-back Pascal Struijk have filled in during his absence as the club do not have another senior left-back on their books.
Bielsa has also been without Patrick Bamford, Luke Ayling and Robin Koch in recent weeks although results have started to pick up.
Asked what Firpo’s return will mean to Leeds, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It’s all about balance, that’s the most important thing.
“To have a left-footed player on the left-hand side makes a world of difference and is vitally important.
“Having your strongest players back is crucial.”
Leeds are on a run three Premier League games without a defeat but are still only three points above Burnley who occupy the final relegation place.

Firpo has featured in eight games for the Yorkshire giants since his summer move from Barcelona.
The Whites paid a £12.8million fee to the Spanish giants and Firpo signed a five-year deal at Elland Road.
In other news, an in-form Leeds United star has been “100 per cent” tipped to be axed v Spurs after a source’s update.
