Rolando Aarons posts Twitter message about Newcastle Premier League return

Rolando Aarons has posted on Twitter that he is hoping Newcastle are in the Premier League at the start of the next campaign.

The 21-year-old posted a picture of a top-flight match between the Magpies and Tottenham last season, where he is battling for the ball with Jan Vertonghen.

At this moment in time, Rafa Benitez’ side are sitting top of the Championship table and are looking likely to secure instant promotion.

They are a point clear of second-placed Brighton, and six points ahead, with a game in hand, of third-placed Reading – a top two finish would guarantee them automatic promotion.

Versatile player Aarons, who is currently out with injury, is hoping that they can maintain their current form as posted on his personal Twitter account.

“On this day last year in the Premier League [pictured in action with Veronghen]. Hopefully, we are there come August this year,” said Aarons.

Aarons has played five games in all competitions for the north east club this season, helping his team keep two clean sheets in those matches.

However, he has been hit by injuries this term, firstly missing up to two months of action with a Metatarsal fracture and now he is sidelined with an Achilles injury.

As a result, the Newcastle academy product has not played since the 2-0 win over Cheltenham Town in the EFL Cup in August.

Nonetheless, Benitez’ side will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the Championship table when they travel to the Midlands to take on Wolves next Saturday.
