Newcastle fans destroy Sandro Tonali as ’embarrassing’ footage emerges

Newcastle United supporters have branded Sandro Tonali “embarrassing” after footage of his altercation with Jack Grealish aired.

The Magpies earned a point against the defending Premier League champions as they drew 1-1 at St. James’ Park.

Josko Gvardiol gave City the least in the first half, but a 58th-minute penalty from Anthony Gordon levelled things up for Eddie Howe’s side.

However, the Toon Army were disappointed by Tonali after he appeared to fall to the ground too easily during a tangle with Grealish.

The two men had been niggling each other throughout the game, but the 24-year-old ended up falling to the floor after claiming that Grealish had clipped him with his elbow.

However, when the footage was examined, it became clear that the contact was minimal and the referee did not award any punishment.

Newcastle fans felt Sandro Tonali’s actions were “pathetic”

The Italy international was starting his first game of the Premier League campaign against City, but that didn’t stop Newcastle fans from being frustrated with his theatrics.
