'Absolute mess', 'Shambles' – Newcastle fans fume over 'baffling' transfer update
Newcastle United fans have taken to social media to rage over news that manager Rafael Benitez still does not know the club’s transfer budget for the January window.
The Magpies endured a difficult summer market, securing just six deals before September, which left the Spanish boss publicly vocalising his frustrations at the club’s inability to secure his top targets.
In the build up to the new year, he has emphasised the need for the club to spend money in order to reinforce the current squad and help escape the relegation battle they have been sucked into after a dreadful run of form.
However, speaking ahead of the club’s FA Cup clash with Luton Town, he revealed that he was still in the dark over how much he would be given to spend in the current window, nearly a week after the market opened.
This transfer update left Newcastle fans fuming on Twitter, with many blasting owner Mike Ashley for the running of the club and insisting the Sports Direct supremo is the root of all the issues at St James’ Park.
