Newcastle record-breaking Alexander Isak offer being submitted – Stefan Borson
Newcastle United will offer star forward Alexander Isak the biggest contract in their history to remain at St James’ Park.
That is the view of finance expert Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider he doesn’t expect the Sweden international to leave the Tyneside club due to their high valuation.
Isak has long been linked with a move away from Newcastle following his impressive form since arriving for a club-record £63million fee from Real Sociedad in 2022.
Football Insider revealed on 5 January Arsenal have made the 25-year-old their top priority for the summer window.
The Telegraph reported on 25 January the north-east giants are adamant Isak is not for sale at any price and intend to reward him with a new long-term contract in the summer.
The striker, who has scored 19 goals in 26 games this season, is under contract until 2028 at St James’ Park.
Newcastle valuation to price clubs out of Alexander Isak deal
“I am sure it will be the highest contract they have offered,” Borson told Football Insider.
“The reason they have held onto their big players is because it would be very expensive to sign Guimaraes or Isak. There are very few teams that can play that game and compete for signings over £100million.
“I think Arsenal could do it if they really wanted to. If it wasn’t Arsenal, who is going to buy Isak and who can afford him? Basically nobody and I include basically everybody.
“Bayern Munich have got Harry Kane, PSG seem to be in a new world, where their acquisitions seem to be in that £70million range, so they are not going to pay £100million.
“Nobody in Italy can do it. Man City don’t need Isak as a priority. You always want quality players, but City won’t buy Isak, so there are no buyers.

“The bottom line is, there are not many places he can actually go. They will offer him a new contract.
“He’s already got quite a lot left on his contract, but he’s clearly one of the best players in the Premier League right now and I don’t see him going anywhere.”
