Newcastle told to accept ‘£10m’ Sean Longstaff offer – fans react

Newcaslte United have been told to cash in on Sean Longstaff with Leicester City preparing a £15million bid for his services.

According to The Mirror [via Leicestershire Live] the Foxes are weighing up a move for the 26-year-old midfielder to strengthen their squad ahead of the Premier League season.

Longstaff came through the academy at Newcastle and has since made 182 senior appearances for the club, scoring 16 goals in that time.

He made 46 appearances in Eddie Howe’s side last time out, scoring six Premier League goals from midfield while providing two assists and featuring five times in the Champions League.

With Leicester keen to strengthen their midfield, they have Longstaff has been identified as an option as, despite his age, he has a wealth of experience at the top level behind him.

Newcastle, meanwhile, may have to sell players to avoid profit and sustainability issues, as revealed by Football Insider.

Newcastle fans insisted they should jump at the chance to earn £15million of profit from him, with some even suggesting they could take less.
