‘No class or respect’ – Noel Whelan destroys Leeds 23-year-old after shocking revelation
By Amir Mir
Noel Whelan has destroyed Leeds defender Charlie Taylor after he refused to play for the club on the last day of the Championship season.
Garry Monk made the shocking revelation on Sunday afternoon after his team had recorded a 1-1 draw against Wigan.
Monk believes the 23-year-old is not being guided on the right path as he clearly wasn’t too impressed with his player’s actions.
Former Whites striker Whelan echoed the words of Monk as he believes Taylor showed “no class” or “respect” to the club and its supporters.
“Disgrace and let himself down,” Whelan wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Showed no class or respect to the club, fans, manager or his teammates.”
Taylor has featured in sporadic fashion for Leeds this season, with injuries playing a big part in him being absent from the starting XI.
Over the course of the season, he has played 32 games in all competitions, with 29 of those matches coming in the Championship.
Since the turn of the year, the left-back has only featured on seven occasions for the club as they narrowly missed out on a play-off spot.
Taylor’s actions have, no doubt, put his future at Elland Road into huge doubt, with his contract due to expire in the summer.
Prior to his injuries and then his refusal to play, Taylor was a popular figure amongst the supporters in Yorkshire.
He was named the club’s Player of the Year for the previous campaign when Steve Evan’s was in charge of the club.
