Odds slashed on next Premier League manager to be sacked after Arne Slot bombshell
Liverpool appear ready to pull the plug on Arne Slot’s time in the dugout, after Saturday’s events proved a massive dent in the Dutchman’s future prospects.
Slot is under huge pressure at Liverpool, with the Premier League champions enduring a dreadful run of form.
The Reds have won just four of their last 15 fixtures across all competitions, and suffered a second consecutive draw on Saturday.
Liverpool drew 3-3 with Leeds United, despite first taking a 2-0 lead before going ahead once again through Dominik Szoboszlai.
In an extraordinary interview after the game, Mohamed Salah admitted that he no longer has a relationship with Slot, who benched the Egyptian for the third consecutive game.
Arne Slot future in massive doubt as odds shorten again
Football Insider revealed on Friday that Liverpool are considering appointing Steven Gerrard as an interim manager, should Slot be sacked.
The Englishman has been out of a job since January, when he left Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq.
Gerrard rejected a chance to return to Rangers in October following the sacking of Russell Martin, but the former Liverpool midfielder would be expected to jump at the chance to return to Anfield.

And that option could be required sooner rather than later, with the pressure further increasing on Slot by the week.
Decision-makers at Anfield backed the Dutchman massively in the summer, but have seen little return for their investments.
With Salah now making his disgruntlement towards the former Feyenoord coach clear, too, there appears to be a ticking clock on Slot’s immediate Liverpool future.
| Next PL manager to be sacked – favourites | Odds |
| Arne Slot | 6/5 |
| Daniel Farke | 2/1 |
| Scott Parker | 3/1 |
| Thomas Frank | 6/1 |
| Marco Silva | 12/1 |
Odds on the 47-year-old being the next Premier League manager to face the sack have shortened in light of Saturday’s events, with one major bookmaker offering as little as 6/5.
Tuesday could be pivotal for Slot
Liverpool will travel to take on Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday, in the hopes of causing what would now be a huge upset.
The Italian giants lead the Serie A and have won their last three consecutive fixtures. Further disappointment for the Reds could well spell the end for Slot.
The Dutchman will hope to still be in charge for Saturday’s clash against Brighton at Anfield, but the manager is unlikely to face a positive welcome there, given Salah’s comments.
Should he be in the dugout, failure to beat the Seagulls would surely leave decision-makers with no choice.
