Pundit issues emphatic Marc Cucurella verdict after source’s Man City talks update
Noel Whelan has insisted Marc Cucurella would “fit right in” at Man City.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United striker said the Brighton defender would be a good addition to Pep Guardiola’s side.
A source told this site (22 June) that the Manchester club have agreed personal terms with Cucurella and are in advanced talks to finalise a fee with the Seagulls.

The left-back joined Brighton last summer from Spanish side Getafe.
The 23-year-old penned a five year contract with the English club.
When asked if he thought Cucurella could be a success at Man City, Whelan told Football Insider: “Absolutely.
“I saw him play at Elland Road a few times before the end of last season. He’s a natural fullback.
“He’s got great energy, he’s aggressive. His quality on the ball is good and his one on one defending is excellent as well.
“He reads the game superbly and it’s that game intelligence that Pep Guardiola likes about him. City’s style of play is one that Cucurella enjoys and he fits right in to that squad.
“He’s very attacking going forward, defensively solid and a player that has plenty of energy and is a good age as well.
“All in all you think it’s going to be money well spent.

“A good bit of business by Brighton as well because he’s not even been there a season.
“I think both parties are going to be happy with the acquisition.”
