Pundit issues ‘huge’ Newcastle claim ahead of Arsenal showdown

Arsenal will “crumble” under the “intense” St James’ Park atmosphere when they face Newcastle on Monday (16 May).

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Arsenal travel to Newcastle looking to regain fourth position in the Premier League after Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Burnley on Sunday (15 May).

It is the Magpies’ final home game of the season and fan group ‘Wor Flags’ has planned a display that will involve every home fan.

The St James’ Park atmosphere has been electric since October’s takeover, with Gary Neville telling his podcast on 13 February “it’s absolutely brilliant, I can hear myself think.

Wenham claims Arsenal will “crumble” under the atmosphere.

“The two evening games Arsenal have had in recent weeks, against Palace and Tottenham, they lost them,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“They crumbled under immense noise and I know St James’ Park is going to be loud tonight.

“It’s the last home game of the season and the Newcastle players will want to send the fans home happy.

“It will be a huge atmosphere. Look at the Chelsea game they played when they won 4-2, it was when Chelsea only had their season ticket holders in.

“The atmosphere was flat and they were able to dominate Chelsea. It will be intense tonight and I can see them crumbling.”
