Rangers attacker sends farewell message to fans on Twitter

By Harvey Byrne

Young attacking midfielder Josh Jeffries has sent his goodbyes to the club on Twitter in a message to fans.

The club have told a number of their young players that they will be leaving at the end of their contracts this summer and on Thursday evening young midfielder Max Ashmore also announced he was leaving the club.

It would now appear that Jeffries is part of the group to be released this summer with the 19-year-old attacker sharing on his personal Twitter account on Thursday evening that it was “now time for me to move on” following 11 years at the famous club.

Jeffries never broke into the Rangers first team, while he also joined Scottish League Two side Stirling Albion in January, where he has so far failed to make an appearance for the senior team.

But, he has been capped four times for the Scotland national team at Under-17s level and he will now be hoping to find a club where he can gain experience of playing senior football.

The Gers are understood to be looking to undergo a clear out this summer as they look to improve their current position and the youngsters leaving could just be the start of a busy summer window for the club.

In other Rangers transfer news, the Gers are preparing a triple raid with 17-goal striker in Pedro Caixinha’s sights.
