‘Thank you Captain America’ – Rangers fans react as Hyndman says goodbye

By Danny Wright

Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to express their feelings about Emerson Hyndman’s loan spell being cut short by injury.

The 21-year-old was left out of the win over Partick on Sunday due to a foot injury and the Daily Record have since claimed that he will head back to his parent club Bournemouth within the next 24 hours.

Hyndman posted a heartfelt message on his personal Twitter account in which he confirmed he will not be able to take part in the final three games of the campaign before calling Rangers a “massive club” and that his loan spell will be a “memorable one”.

Rangers fans were understandably upset about Hyndman’s premature Ibrox exit and took to social media to express their thoughts.

Here is a selection of tweets from the supporters:

Hyndman was signed by Mark Warburton in the January transfer window and he went on to make a total of 17 appearances for Gers, scoring four goals and supplying four assists.

Due to his impressive performances in Scotland, the Daily Record have claimed that Celtic had made an approach for his services.

Rangers’ season is more or less over after they secured a Europa League spot by beating Partick on Sunday.

They play Hearts, Aberdeen and St. Johnstone in their final games of the campaign and can mathematically still finish in second place.

However they would have to rely on a series of results going their way and a huge swing in goal difference.
