Rangers told to complete Robbie Ure deal after source’s reveal – ‘people are saying,’ says pundit
Frank McAvennie has urged Rangers to give Robbie Ure what he wants to keep him at the club.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker suggested the striker should be given more game time in the first team.
On Wednesday (8 February), sources told this site that the 18-year-old wants to quit the club after being offered a new contract on less money.
His current deal expires in the summer but rejected an initial contract offer last month as he has an eye on a potential move in the main summer window.
The teenager has made two first team appearances, with Alfredo Morelos, Antonio Colak and Kemar Roofe there for Michael Beale to choose from.
Ure has made 24 Lowland League appearances for the Rangers B team this season and has scored 16 goals and provided six assists in those outings.
McAvennie insisted Rangers should give Ure what he is asking for to keep him at the club.
“He will be thinking that they are bringing all these new players in, he will not get a game,” he told Football Insider.
“They do not know what is happening with Morelos. They have still got Roofe, Morelos and Colak and Ure is wanting games and if he is not playing he wants paid for it.

“If he is as good as what people are saying, I would have him in the team.
“If he is going to be the future of Rangers, they are going to have to pay him to keep him. He has got great potential. They have got to pay him to keep him hungry.“
