Sources: Brighton three-signing plan revealed
Brighton are keen to land Roberto De Zerbi’s preferred targets in the summer window – regardless of the fees involved, sources have told Football Insider.
This site revealed on Monday (5 June) that big funds will be available to the Italian, 44, this summer despite the Seagulls already breaking their transfer record to sign Watford’s Joao Pedro.
It is believed that Brighton are not ready to end their summer spending – with big-money exits for Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo likely in the coming weeks.
Sources told Football Insider on Monday (5 June) that the Seagulls are set to announce the free transfer arrival of Mahmoud Dahoud this week – with Mac Allister expected to head to Liverpool.
It is believed another central midfielder will be on the agenda for transfer chiefs – while the south coast club are also targetting arrivals at centre-back and full-back.
Brighton qualified for European football for the first-ever time with a sixth-place finish in the 2022-23 campaign, and will need a bigger squad to cope with the more intense schedule.
They will enter the Europa League at the group stage in September.
De Zerbi, who succeeded Graham Potter in September 2022, has chosen to remain at the Amex Stadium despite interest from Tottenham.

Football Insider revealed last month (24 May) that Italian told Brighton he will stay with them for at least the 2023-24 campaign after Tottenham sounded him out about their vacancy.
It is believed he is happy and settled at the club and would like to gain more experience before moving to a Champions League calibre club.
