Sources: Brighton to hand De Zerbi big kitty after club-record deal secured
Big funds will be available to Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi this summer despite them already breaking their transfer record to sign Watford’s Joao Pedro, sources have told Football Insider.
The Seagulls announced the capture of Pedro last month (5 May), with reports claiming they will pay a fee of £30million for the Brazillian.
But it is believed that Brighton are not ready to end their lavish summer spending – with big-money exits for Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo likely.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (5 June) that Liverpool are set to complete the signing of Mac Allister this week after triggering his release clause.
Meanwhile, Liverpool, Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal have been credited with an interest in Caicedo – despite him signing a new four-year deal at the Amex Stadium earlier this year.
Brighton are close to wrapping up their second summer deal, with Football Insider revealing on Monday (5 June) that the south coast club are set to announce the free transfer arrival of Mahmoud Dahoud this week.
De Zerbi’s side will need extra bodies to be able to deal with the rigours of European football following their first-ever qualification for the Europa League group stage.

Football Insider revealed last month (24 May) that Italian told Brighton he will stay with them for at least the 2023-24 campaign after Tottenham sounded him out about their vacancy.
It is believed he is happy and settled at the club and would like to gain more experience before moving to a Champions League calibre club.
