Sources: PSG join three-club race to sign Bernardo Silva after Man City exit reveal

PSG have joined Juventus and Benfica in the battle to land Bernardo Silva’s services if he leaves Manchester City this summer.

Club captain Silva has remained a key man for Pep Guardiola’s side this season, but currently looks destined to depart the club this summer when his contract expires.

It is currently unclear whether he will sign a new deal at the Etihad Stadium, with an exit seeming the most likely outcome despite his continued impressive form.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, PSG are among the clubs vying to sign the 31-year-old if he does choose to move on.

Man City’s summer transfer plans are set to be dictated by how they end this campaign, with four trophies still on offer for Guardiola’s side as it stands.

PSG join Juventus and Benfica in Bernardo Silva race

Former Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic has told the Italian giants to target Silva this summer, and reports have stated that they are exploring a move for his services alongside his old club, Benfica.

PSG have previously been linked to the Portugal international, and are also set to eye a move to sign him if he decides to leave the Etihad Stadium.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained:  “Bernardo Silva, if he does end up leaving Manchester City, which is looking likelier by every passing week, there’ll be a number of top clubs looking to sign him.

“If he does become a free agent, I think it’ll be more than just Juventus will be interested in him. You’ll have Benfica, who have also shown an interest. They’d love to bring him back to his native Portugal.

“I’m sure there’ll be other interest, PSG have been linked as well, and I’m sure there will be other top cubs looking to sign a player of the calibre of Silva.

“He could be one of the biggest free agents come this summer, and I think he will have his pick of clubs to join if he does see out his contract at Man City.”

John Stones could also leave Man City amid Everton interest

City look to be coming to the end of an era this summer, with Stones being another long-serving star who may leave for pastures new.

The 31-year-old has only made 14 appearances across all competitions this season amid injury troubles, and his last Premier League start came against Aston Villa back on 26 October.

He is also entering the last few months of his contract at the Etihad, and sources have told Football Insider that Stones is open to joining Everton ahead of next season.

Silva and Stones both leaving would signify a changing of the guard for Guardiola’s side, with Rodri also potentially set to leave too.
