Sources: Reading agree to sign Naby Sarr after Huddersfield Town exit
Reading have agreed a deal to sign former Huddersfield Town defender Naby Sarr, sources have told Football Insider.
The centre-back, 28, is a free agent after leaving Huddersfield earlier this summer upon the expiration of his contract following two seasons at the club.
A number of clubs have shown an interest in the defender, but Royals boss Paul Ince has moved to convince him to make the move to Reading.

The framework of a deal is in place and it is expected to be finalised soon.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month (4 July) that relegation-threatened duo Reading and Birmingham were facing competition from German side Kaiserslautern for Sarr’s signature.
However, the Royals look to have beaten off interest from the 2.Bundesliga side – among others – as the Berkshire side aim to improve on last season’s 21st-place finish.
As quoted by Reading Today on Saturday (23 July), Ince revealed he is “hopeful” of securing the defender’s signing as well as the services of FC Porto midfielder Mamadou Loum.
Sarr made 21 appearances in the Championship last term – but started just 14 of those games.
His last game in a Huddersfield shirt ended in heartbreak – with the Terriers falling 1-0 at Wembley in the play-off final against Nottingham Forest.
The Lyon academy graduate is now an experienced campaigner in the English game having made almost 200 appearances across spells with Charlton and Huddersfield.
Reading have already made seven additions as they look to banish the threat of relegation this term.
Shane Long, Tom Ince, and Jeff Hendrick are among the highest-profile signings ahead of the big kick-off against Blackpool on 30 July.
