Sources: Salernitana make approach to sign Everton outcast Michael Keane

Serie A side Salernitana have made an approach to Everton for Michael Keane, sources have told Football Insider.

The 30-year-old has fallen out of favour at Goodison Park with the Toffees fighting a relegation battle.

In December, it was reported that West Ham, Fulham and Leicester City are all chasing the centre-back’s signature.

In November, Football Insider revealed Everton are willing to listen to offers for Keane and £10million could be enough to seal a winter window deal.

It was understood West Ham had registered their interest amid doubts over the future of Craig Dawson.

Keane has struggled for minutes this season with James Tarkowski and Conor Coady now nailed-on starters under Frank Lampard.

The defender has played just 22 minutes in the Premier League this term, in a game against Brentford on 27 August.

Keane did play 90 minutes in the Carabao Cup on 8 November as the Toffees lost 4-1 to Bournemouth after a poor display.

Over the previous two Premier League campaigns, Keane only missed nine Premier League games as Everton struggled to stay in the division but ultimately avoided the drop.

He joined the club in July 2017 and has made 189 appearances for the Goodison Park outfit.

Salernitana sit 16th in Serie A after a poor start to the 2022-23 season.

They have win just four of their 18 league games so far this term.
