Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur will all play in the Champions League round of 16 next week.

All six Premier League teams will play the first leg on Tuesday or Wednesday, before next week’s games confirm the quarter-finals.

League-stage toppers Arsenal will face Bayer Leverkusen, while the likes of Newcastle and Chelsea, who will play Barcelona and PSG respectively, have been handed tougher tasks.

Plenty of eyes will be on Tottenham, who, despite their ongoing relegation battle in the Premier League, will be hopeful of beating Atletico Madrid to continue what has been a positive European campaign so far.

Arsenal have excelled in Europe this season, and will hope to take a strong lead back to the Emirates Stadium next week to allow for rotation in their ongoing Premier League title battle.

Manchester City will be one to keep an eye on, too, with the Citizens set to take on Real Madrid yet again in the Champions League.

Liverpool have been drawn against Galatasaray to complete the Premier League ties, with a place in the next round also meaning increased reward money.

Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider this month that Arsenal should smash their record revenue numbers again this year, and the Champions League is much of the reason why.

The Gunners got to the semi-final stage last season, earning a significant amount in prize money as a result.

They will hope to get further this season and win the competition, and their Premier League opponents will have a similar idea in mind.

Opta‘s supercomputer has predicted that Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea will make it to the quarter-finals.

Chelsea have been handed a 52.57 per cent chance of making it past PSG, but Newcastle boast just a 37.73 per cent chance, and Tottenham, 36.56 per cent.

Judging by the supercomputer’s predictions, Arsenal will face Sporting CP in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Man City will have a slightly more difficult proposition in the form of Bayern Munich, while Liverpool and Chelsea will face off in an all-English affair.

Incredibly, the situation could still arise that the Premier League end up with three representatives in the semi-finals.

While there has been much discussion regarding the league’s quality internally this season, its clubs seem to be showing their level on the European stage with few issues.
