Supercomputer updates Premier League winner prediction after Arsenal and Man City developments
Arsenal have strengthened their grip on the Premier League title after Wednesday night’s stunning events.
The Gunners travelled to Brighton and emerged narrow winners, hanging on to preserve their lead gained after just nine minutes when Bukayo Saka scored.
In Manchester, there was trouble for chasers Manchester City, who were ahead twice against relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest but ultimately held to a 2-2 draw.
The gap has grown to seven points after Wednesday’s games, with the title no longer in the Citizens’ hands if they win all of their remaining games.
Arsenal were the favourites to win the Premier League already, but they appear to have taken a big step towards the title.

Just last month, Arsenal appeared to have thrown away the title when they inexplicably gave up a two-goal lead against bottom-club Wolves.
The Gunners looked out on their feet at the final whistle, with the gap reduced to just five points while Man City boasted a game in hand.
With a difficult three-game period approaching, it appeared to be all too much of a familiar story for Mikel Arteta’s team.
But the response from Arsenal has been resounding. The Premier League leaders thumped Tottenham before narrowly beating Chelsea and Brighton to answer the doubters emphatically.
After Wednesday’s results, the pressure has now been placed on Man City, who will feel that they cannot afford to drop points again this season.
Former Everton chief Keith Wyness exclusively told Football Insider that he believes Arsenal will win the Premier League, and Opta‘s supercomputer agrees with him.
Wednesday’s results have seen Arsenal’s chances of winning the league grow massively to 93.60 per cent, according to the supercomputer, while Man City’s have shrunk to just 6.40 per cent.
The fixtures standing between Arsenal and glory
When Mikel Arteta looks at his team’s upcoming fixtures, his eyes will be drawn to next month’s clash at the Etihad Stadium.
Arsenal do not currently need to avoid defeat there to win the Premier League, but it would help massively.
| Arsenal – fixtures | Date |
| Mansfield Town (A) | 7 Mar |
| Bayer Leverkusen (A) | 11 Mar |
| Everton (H) | 14 Mar |
| Bayer Leverkusen (H) | 17 Mar |
| Manchester City (N) | 22 Mar |
Just two away games remain after that, and they both come in May. West Ham at the London Stadium, and Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on the final day.
Arsenal’s other games all come at home, with the visits of Newcastle United and Bournemouth likely the most notable.
