Fringe player has plenty to offer: Three thing learned from Rangers win v Motherwell
Kipre should be banned
Anyone that has paid even the slightest bit of attention to Scottish football this season will likely be aware or Ryan Jack’s four red cards this season.
None of them even come close to the cowardly assault on the Rangers midfielder by Motherwell defender Cedric Kipre during the opening 45 minutes at Ibrox.
After losing out in a 50/50 Kipre looked set to stamp on the inside of Jack’s knee before raking his studs down the length of the Rangers star’s leg then stamping on the back of his knee.
Somehow, referee John Beaton took no action whatsoever despite looking straight at it, unobstructed, from a few yards away.
Just minutes later, Eduardo Herrera was next to take a sore one from Kipre after taking a boot to the face leaving the Mexican striker with blood flowing from a facial wound – earning Kipre a booking.
If the Scottish FA’s compliance officer doesn’t take a look back at it, then there’s something seriously wrong in Scottish football.
