Harry Winks has seen himself become somewhat of a key player for Tottenham in recent weeks, with Mauricio Pochettino having endured something of an injury crisis in the centre of the park.

He been somewhat of a revelation this season, having had to wait six months between starts as a result of an injury layoff.

He has performed so well in fact that he earned his first England cap against Lithuania at the start of October, having appeared at every level of youth international football for the country.

However, the level of competition he has been playing against is undoubtedly a few steps below Real Madrid – he has started against Apoel Nicosia, Huddersfield and Bournemouth – and so there were questions over whether he would have what it takes at the Bernabeu.

He proved any doubters well and truly wrong.

His performance left Frank Lampard raving about the 21-year-old, and there are no doubts he will be a future star for both club and country in the future.

He is already one cap there for the Three Lions, and with 45 appearances under his belt for Spurs, they need to be tying him down sooner rather than later to ensure he commits what is going to be a bright future to the club.
